Before Novie was born we decided that she would ride rear facing even after she met the minimum requirements, legally a child is allowed to ride forward at 12 months AND 20lbs. The reason for our decision is there have been studies that show an infant's spine is still very fragile at 12 months and if in an accident a forward facing infant could be killed by internal decapitation. We switched Novie's chair on New Year's Day and she loves it. I like being able to see her in the rearview mirror but it was much easier to buckle her in rearfacing.

What a cutie pie! Emma took forever to be forward facing because she stayed under 20 lbs. for what seemed like forever. She is 3 years old and only like 24 and a half pounds. Novie looks so happy :)
